We drove 8.5 hours today. It started out spitting rain and has turned into a fairly steady downpour. Last time I checked it was 39 degrees. Getting the horses put up was pretty fun. I brought only one pair of long pants. The pair I will need to non-rev in. Pat has given me a pair of hers because I looked stupid walking around in shorts. Tonight will be my last night. Steve will split off from Pat as we drive by Minneapolis and drop me off at the airport. It will be good to get home.

Cold creek farm kansas
This is a farm. There is a silo, a goat, some pigs, a few alpacas, and a bunch of horses. I took a spectacular bucket bath a few minutes ago. I stole some hot water from the barn's bathroom and carried it into the shower in the horse trailer. It was absolutely primo. I am one clean dude.
Lunch on Kansas turnpike
This is a toll road. Every few miles is a rest/gas/picnic area. We are south of Wichita and will be camping near Lawrence. We get the animals walked and watered when we stop for gas.

First stop Norman Oklahoma
Drove about 8 hours today. The farm is really pretty. There are no facilities so we are boondocking. The horses are put up and the dogs are fed and exercised. We are sitting outside drinking and thinking about dinner. We have just spotted a wild turkey walking across the field behind the barn. Nice weather here and the bugs aren't too bad.

Reunion finale
Our mini - reunion ended today. Diane made a breakfast casserole that had, in addition to eggs, a tube of Jimmy Dean's country sausage. It was exceptionally good but it probably knocked 2 days off of my life span. We did eat very well this weekend. Cooper's barbeque, elk meat wrapped in Bacon, sausage, beer steamed whole chicken, more sausage, plus gooey coffee cake and some Mississippi river chocolate mud pudding. I could go on but somethings we ate defy description. Absolutely primo. I don't think I gained much weight but I'm sure my cholesterol level exploded upward. It was a great success. Thanks to all the participants. This pic was "the end"

Late night.
We got all caught up last night. Donna did breakfast. It was huge. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't have to eat anything else the rest of the day. John and Jean are doing dinner tonight. Grilled meat wrapped in Bacon. We are definitely eating well. The guys loaded up the boat and went for a cruise on the river.
Beer, wine, tequila, & brisket
Everyone had arrived by 5. John and Jean couldn't leave until after school because Jean is a teacher. Serious drinking and eating commenced forthwith. Bill brought a really good bottle of tequila that disappeared pretty quickly. We have enough beer to float a battleship and enough food to feed an army.

The Guadalupe river
Today is Thursday. The Aggie reunion/beer tasting weekend gets started tomorrow. It appears that there has been a few get to gethers here since our last reunion. We have filled 4 trash bags already and we haven't produced any trash yet. The big trash can was full of dirty paper plates leftover from Larson's 88th birthday party. That was the end of February. I think there might have been some new forms of life evolving in that trash can. Pat and Steve drove out here this morning to take a look around. Steve and I launched the canoe and he did some fishing as we slowly moved upstream. He had a few strikes but no fish. We are looking forward to tomorrow. It will be fun.

San antonio visit
There are several things going on here that have brought us to town. The 4th annual class of 74 Aggie mini reunion/beer tasting river fest is this weekend. Aubrey's birthday is right around the corner and Pat and Steve are going to begin their drive back to Wisconsin on Tuesday. I am going to ride back with them to assist with the chores. There are 2 horses and 2 dogs so I'm sure my expertise in dealing with animal waste will be exploited.
