Colleton state park

2 down, 45 to go. I'm forced to admit we are living in bizarro world. There are 47 state parks in SC. If you buy a state park book and have it stamped in every SC State Park the state will give you a Tshirt. We are currently in pursuit of that undergarment. We figure it will take 3 years and cost several thousand dollars. This park is the states smallest. 35 acres. It is the start of a 25 mile state canoe trail on the Edisto river. We are pretty close to the end point of the trail which is another state park. Our plan is to drive there tomorrow and get our book stamped. I'm not sure this endeavor is completely logical but we are committed. These pics were taken on a walk in the park. The river is high so it's somewhat swampy.

Parting shot

I'm a little tardy posting this picture. Seth and his girls left a few days ago. It was a good visit, so good, that I needed 2 days to wind down. Tomorrow, 31 Mar. We plan on leaving Beaufort for parts unknown. The MP has been calling out to me in my sleep. "Drive me Dave, drive me hard" she's been saying. Maybe that was just my imagination. Probably. Anyway, we are planning 2 1\2 months. There is some family Flux in progress that we might have to react to, so we have no firm plans. Davejennyjournal should have posts most days for a while.

Yesterday

Breakfast, carriage ride, Gilligan's (lunch), The Kazoo Museum, disk golf, massive fresh fish & oyster dinner, the fire pit with night Frisbee. It was a busy day. Just a bit of unsolicited advice. If you do a Kazoo factory\museum Don't expect any peace and quiet

Charleston day 3

We had a pizza lunch followed by athletic endeavors at the KOA. The couple got dressed up again for the wedding of Seth's old college friend. Tomorrow we will return to Beaufort with Seth's family for a couple of days.

Rehearsal Dinner

The wedding is tomorrow. Today was pretty taxing but i'm not really sure what we did. It's full speed ahead with 5 youngsters from the minute we arrive until we leave. We tried to take some family pictures at the county park that is just down the road but we were stymied by this year's first hatch of "no see-ums". We got some pictures but there were a lot of pictures of us swatting bugs. I took this pic as Seth & Courtney were leaving for the Rehearsal Dinner.

Seth, Courtney & the Girls visit

A wedding has brought Seth's family to Charleston. Jenny and I are only a few days away from beginning our MP trip, so we have brought it to the local KOA as a sort of shake down cruise. Seth and I accompanied all the kids to a 'bouncy house' super center while the 3 mothers went shopping at the outlets. I was thinking that the 3 girls and 2 boys together in Lindsay's house would require a visit from FEMA. I was wrong. Everything seems to be running smoothly. Here's a pic taken while the girls were shopping.

Jason, Maggie & Nuria visit

Nuria is on her spring break and Jason & Maggie wanted to visit Savanah Georgia, which is conveniently only 45 minutes from Beaufort. So far we have walked the trails, played Frisbee, ridden bikes, sipped Margaritas, visited downtown and toured the city via horse drawn carriage. The horse was a Clydesdale. There was also some food consumed. More to come.
