Aubrey's 6th birthday

Today was her official birthdate. The party is tomorrow at a frozen yogurt shop near their home. We really need to fly home tomorrow so we are going to miss the official party. We did take everyone to "The Magic Time Machine" for a birthday dinner. The kids had a blast. Earlier in the afternoon Jenny & I went to the twins soccer game. It was supposed to be soccer and it was supposed to be a game but it was neither. A comedy skit maybe.
Papaw gave Aubrey a stack of ones as a gift.

Bubbulious

Today's grandparental adventure went pretty well. Courtney is gone and Seth was at work. We got a neighbor to take Aubs to school so we were left with the twins. They speak a language between themselves that is unique to them. Luckily, I am comfortable with it. We communicate. Sort of. Jenny bought some bubble dohickies while she waited for Aubrey to finish her ballet class. They played with the dohickies after Seth got home. The second pic has Trinity in it. She is a 13 year old pit bull that Seth has had since college.

San Antonio for a week

Courtney has flown to Florida to attend a girlfriends wedding. Jenny and I are here to assist Seth with the 3 girls while Courtney is out of town. Some might consider this a double standard since Court has the 3 girls all the time. There's no real rationale other than Seth's need to go to work on Monday. Jenny & I will have them tomorrow. Eeeks! Court made it to Florida ok and we took the girls to McAllister Park for some bike riding. Aubrey's birthday is in a few days so we will hang around until the party. I like birthday cake.

Trails closed

It rained most of last night and a good portion of this morning. To protect the bike trails, the park closes them if there is mud. I hiked a foot trail that follows the lake shore after the rain stopped. I also caught up on my reading. Jenny and her dad left Florida and are spending tonight with linz & Jamie. Tomorrow we both return to Tega Cay.

Too much of a good thing

I spent over 5 hours in the saddle today. Jenny thinks I tend to do things to excess. Ya maybe. I had a couple of, attitude adjustment, crashes this morning. My previous attitude  "if it can be done, I can do it". My new attitude " if it looks iffy, get off and walk". I had a morning session and an afternoon session. I'm a physical wreck. Should be raining tomorrow. Sounds like a good excuse. Jenny and her dad did a hike today to the largest rapids in Florida. It's called The Big Shoals and It's on the Suwannee River. The rain that I will get tomorrow, they got today.

Splitsville

Jenny and I have split up. She is on a road trip with her dad in Florida. He flew into charlotte a couple of days ago. They spent the first night in Beaufort SC. That's a town we might consider moving to after we sell our home in Tega Cay. They are now at Stephen Foster St. Park in a cabin. I drove the MP to Lake Norman St. Park, with my bikes, to do some mountain biking. There are 30 miles of single track bike trails in the park. The campground has no hook-ups so I am boondocking. I wanted to see how that was going to work. So far OK. I'll be here for 3 nights. I'm hoping to ride all of the trails before I leave.

Mother/Daughter wine country trip

On march 20th Jenny & Lindsay flew to SF and drove to Sonoma for a 60th/30th birthday road trip. I suggested to her that during the trip she should do a few blog posts to help her remember events. Sadly, wine and remembering, aren't compatible. I have been able to piece together that a fantastic time was had. The case of wine that they checked as luggage, made it unscathed. Jenny's suitcase was lost for a day but it also returned to the Carolina's. What follows are a few pictures of their adventure that somehow ended up on Jenny's phone.
