The framing crew showed up at 8 and worked really fast. This was the result of the 1st day. This is a 1 car garage with a carport. We are leaving tomorrow for (home)?? We had the cable modem hooked up today. We will have a land line phone also. We are old school.

Slab poured for the garage
We drove back to Habersham after lunch with Lindsay and the boys. Jamie had a meeting and couldn't make it, even though he knew I was buying. It must have been an important meeting. The drive is about 1 hour 35 minutes. We stopped by Lowes and bought a couple of ceiling fan lights. There is something weird about the way the fans were wired and I am baffled by it. I'm going to need some help getting the lights installed. When we drove up to the house this is what had happened this morning.

Blarney Wight
We drove up to Charleston for Jamie's 32nd birthday. The green hat was apparently left over from St. Patricks day.

Play day
I did a 20 mile paddle today. Using my unusually astute skills I somehow was able to paddle into the tide the entire time. I went under a bridge and took this pic. Jenny caught me at the Habersham boat ramp and this is a marsh pic.

Work day
Some of you might remember that the MP has Michelin tires and that all 7 of them had been recalled for a defect. I got 7 new tires this morning. After that we went to Lowes and bought some closet stuff. Sadly, installing that, was my afternoon project. Work has begun on the garage, until it's finished we're storing our garage stuff on the back porch. I will paddle tomorrow.

Beaufort move---PHASE II
We've been packing the small stuff for about a week. We are going to take a load down there tomorrow. Ibuprofen?

Unscathed
Our 2 car convoy to Beaufort went without a hitch. We unloaded the cargo and I turned in the U - Haul trailer. I'm hoping my Forrester didn't suffer any irreparable damage because we might do this again next weekend. I did a training paddle today on the Broad River. It's called a river but it flows in or out depending on what the tide is doing. The paddling options around here are pretty extensive.

First load to Beaufort
We've had 5 moving companies come by to give us estimates for the move. The less they move the cheaper it's gonna be. We decided to try and lower their profit by hauling some of our stuff ourselves. The Forrester has a rubber band engine so I'm a little concerned about towing a trailer but I'm kinda committed. -subject change- We put Seth's old bedroom furniture on "Craigslist". It took us literally 5 minutes to sell it. It took us 3 days to sell Lindsay's. Maybe we should put our house on Craigslist.

Back in the campground
After a one night stay in our new home we have moved out and are back in the MP. Last night we toasted day 1 by drinking some champagne from paper cups. This morning we hiked some neighborhood trails and played Frisbee. Lindsay and Jamie are back in Charleston. Tomorrow we will put the MP in storage here and then drive back to Tega Cay. We have a move to plan.
