Kiddie water park

Seth and Courtney left this morning for Wilmington. They are attending a wedding. It's actually the reason they're here. After they left we took all the girls + Connor to a water park that is a part of the county park near their new home. We experienced all the exciting thrills that the park had to offer and then sampled the snack bar menu. After that adventure Jamie & I went to the old house so that he could finish up a few items before the new tenants move in tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow. We load up the girls in the motor home and head home. The couple will drive from Wilmington and link up with us in Tega Cay. Jenny will have 3 high energy young ladies to keep busy while I drive. Beach trip

Today's big adventure was a trip to the beach. An attempt was made earlier in the week to hit the beach but it was really windy and the attempt was aborted. Today the wx was great. Tonight the girls went to a movie and left the kids with the guys. We quickly established a division of labor and went to work efficiency feeding and bathing. We all quietly watched MSNBC until bed time and waited for the girls to return. This pic was taken at the beach.

KOA picnic

I stayed behind when everyone went to the aquarium. I road my bike in the county park and then put the swing set back together. Our afternoon was spent preparing for and then feeding the two clans. I cooked the entire meal on our portable grill. Except the corn on the cob. Jenny used the microwave for that. We did trip the circuit breaker at the campsite plug a couple of times. It's a 30 amp plug and we found out that the oven, AC, fridge, and water heater use something over 30 amps. This pic was our campground meal.

One of those days

When we got up today I couldn't open the door to get out. I had to use the drivers side door. I couldn't fix it. I couldn't really figure it out. I got a locksmith who figured it out. Turns out I had screwed up. I did learn something and it only cost me $40. Next up, the AC wouldn't work. I finally found someone to come take a look as the temp hit 90. Turns out it was a loose plug. I found it myself and was able to divert the repairmen but it was a mess. Next, the cable didn't work. That fix required a new coaxial cable. I had no idea my 20 year old cable was bad. The day turned around when Seth fixed dinner for everyone. Oysters Rockefeller, stuffed and wrapped pork tenderloin, grilled artichokes and a tomatoes and cucumber salad. Yummy. This pic was taken right before dinner.

Cousin confab

Made it back to Charleston. Motor home parked at the KOA. Courtney, Seth and their girls are getting to know their Carolina cousins.

The truck

Well, we got it all in one truck load. It was pretty ugly and we needed to use Zack's SUV and one more Forrester load but we got'er done. Putting stuff where it's gonna end up has begun. Jenny will drive home today and fly to S.A. tomorrow to help get Courtney and the twins out here. I'll leave tomorrow and get things prepped for our RV trip. This adventure is winding down the next one will be spinning up in a couple of days.

Only 3 car loads today. Nicknacks, books, toys, and in my humble opinion, a significant jumble of things of questionable utility. Oh well the process of finding a place for everything has begun. Jamie picked up the truck late this afternoon. It's a big truck. With all the stuff we have hauled over here the last 4 days I think this will be a one load move. I'm thinking I'll be the load master.

Mostly big stuff left

4 car loads today. Jenny & I + Lindsay and her friend Emily all had car loads today. I've got the rocket box on the Forrester and I'm using Jamie's cargo basket on my trailer hitch. We hauled a lot of stuff today. The garage at the new house  is pretty full but its not gross. Tomorrow afternoon we get the rental truck. It's the biggest thing Penske rents. Jamie has some help lined up for Saturday. Depending on the size of the truck I suppose it might be possible to get it done in one load. We'll see. Seth, Courtney and their girls are coming for a few days visit next Tuesday. I'm sensing a possible train wreck. We'll have the motor home down here for that visit.

I remember now

We did 6 carloads today. The girls were in the house packing and unpacking. I was in the driveway loading and unloading. It was deja-vu. Moving is not fun. Lindsay will have to find spots for all of the stuff that is sitting in boxes scattered throughout the house. Jamie will get the truck on Friday. We'll get to move the furniture on Saturday. Goodie!

Linz & Jamie move

Jenny and I have made a trip to Charleston to lend a hand while Lindsay and Jamie move into their new house. We brought both cars so that we could move maximum household stuff. We carried 2 carloads this afternoon and then made dinner for everyone on some camping stuff we brought with us. We are sleeping on some pads on the floor in one of the bedrooms. We will be hauling small stuff for a few days. Jamie has a truck rented for the weekend. Today is Tuesday. This pic is our dinner in the new house. There is no furniture yet.
