Our big event today was a hike. The peninsula is bisected by a 6 mile trail that goes to the end. We hiked 5 1/2 miles of that trail through mostly loose sand. At that point there is a cut-through to the beach. We stopped there for lunch and then hit the beach for the hike back. We saw no one until we got near the trailhead. The beach here is rated as one of the best beaches in the country and we had it to ourselves. It was quite a treat. About 10 miles and 4 hours into walking in sand, we were ready for the treat to be over with.
Nice white sandy beach
