Shenandoah SP day 2

We spent most of today driving on The Skyline drive through the northern 1/3rd of Shenandoah NP. The Skyline drive is sort of like the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are numerous pullouts with expansive views and also many trailheads. This was kind of an exploratory first day. We are looking for interesting places to hike to. We did do a few hikes, one short stretch was on the Appalachian trail. The Skyline drive mile '0' is in Front Royal VA. We are currently sitting in a parking lot after eating a pulled pork sandwich that was cooked on a smoker on the side of the road. They call themselvves "Two Fat Butchers" believe me, they are. Anyway there is cellphone coverage in this small town so Jenny is making her calls and I'm doing this. More tomorrow.

  1. So on your way glad you are finding hikes on the way. Virus is still running rampant. Governor says he is making masks mandatory but local county isn't going to enforce it. I am really getting a little anxious as the vaccination is a long way off. Just stay at home for me and in the woods on my horse.

  2. Glad that yall are on your way. I saw the blondies, Seth and Court and Jason and Beth for a short 45 minute visit at Overmountain Winery on Saturday. And then had Pat's son, Shawn and his family over for dinner. Two nephews in one day. Pretty special. Keep on keeping on.....your 2nd favorite sister, Paula
