Another stay at the Cider House. The weather was a little colder than in past years. A wet front blew through on Tuesday and left behind a Gusty, cold wind. This year's experiment was a fried turkey. Jamie provided the fryer, Seth provided the turkey and I provided the peanut oil. I think that it was universally accepted that the experiment wasn't a complete success. We probably cooked it a few minutes too long. Jamie's car overheated on one of the trips to Pat's house. We diagnosed it as a bad thermostat. It was really undrivable so It got towed to a Jeep dealership in Spartanburg. This complicated our departure. We had the RV and our towed Maverick so we split the people in the two vehicles and loaded the baggage in the truck. We also put the dogs in the RV and off we went. We dropped everyone and everything off in Mt Pleasant and made it to Habersham as the sun was setting. It was a somewhat eventful Thanksgiving, Pat and Steve were spectacular hosts, as they always are. Not sure when our next trip will be. Davejennyjournal will be going dark for awhile.
