Flagstaff KOA

Today's drive was a windy challenge. The Sprinter has a feature called "crosswind assist" when it senses that the van is about to get blown over the upwind brakes apply themselves for a brief moment. The first time it happened it scared the shit out of me. It happened maybe a dozen times today. The wind was really bad. We are in camp under the ponderosa pines and it's still really bad. It is a cool wind however. We might need the heater later. This KOA backs up to a national forest with trails. I will try to ride a few of them tomorrow. We stopped a few times on the way here. We weren't in a hurry. I tried to capture the blowing dust a a gas stop along the way. We are here for 2 nights.

  1. Wow Dave, I think that would have scared me too, I think I might have gone directly to a repair shop. Did you already know about this crosswind assit, how did you figure this out. Happy bike riding.

  2. Wow..kinda like getting a heavy duty Lowes plastic bucket stuck under your car at 55 MPH on a St. Louis freeway with no where to go but hit it? That kind of scared?? Im too old for these challenges. Anyway, sounds like quite a wind storm. Hopefully things have settled down. Have an uneventful day. Your sister, Paula

  3. A light comes on in the dash that says the crosswind assist has been activated. We looked it up to figure out what was happening.
