Lost Maples State Park

The Sabinal river flows through a shaded narrow canyon here and the conditions are just right for Big Tooth Maple trees to grow. This time of year the Big Tooth Maple isn't particularly noteworthy, however, in the fall the foliage turns a colorful red or yellow. At that time of year the park fills up with day hikers from Austin and San Antonio. It's a beautiful place. Very peaceful. We will do a hike tomorrow if the weather looks ok. I'm sending this from the visitors center, using Texas state WiFi.

  1. Working on sliding door for barn. Paula tried out the pool last evening after drinking a whole bottle of wine, she can't remember how cold it was. She and I are getting organized. Steve is still working on barn, but I will insisted it is last day, I want him to shoot trap tomorrow, he deserves a break, still lots to do, might come back this summer and bring a load and stay a couple of weeks. Will see. Safe trip to SA, say hi to kids for us.
