The drive from las Cruces wasn't too far so we drove into Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument and did a 2 1/2 hour hike. This NM was established by Obama 6 years ago. We hiked to a small waterfall/spring that was used by the landowner in 1890 to provide water for a small resort. The buildings are now ruins but at one time the resort was a hopping place. We are in another commercial campground. We will visit White Sands National park tomorrow.
Looks like a really nice hike, ruins are interesting. A resort in the 1800s? Who knew. We all went to dinner for valentine's day. Thirty this am
