We decided today, to drive into the nearest town, Renovo, to absorb some of its ambiance. There is a gigantic brick building in town that has 3 sets of railroad tracks running beside it. The building is boarded up and the RR tracks are rusting. We think the source of Renovo's economy was lumber and coal. There are around 4000 people still living there and we have no idea how they make a living. We drove around some more and visited a scenic overlook at the end of a long uphill slog. After lunch it was a 3 1/2 mile loop hike near the campground. It's New York tomorrow.
Looks like a pretty hike. The tropical storm is dumping alot of rain in ny. Safe travels
