Hueco Tanks State Park

That's pronounced like the Texas town "Waco". In fact Waco is a mutation of Hueco, which means hollows in the rock. These are rock basins that fill with water. There are a lot of them in this park. They are all dry because it hasn't rained here in forever. This water attracted people for centuries and, people being people, they painted graffiti everywhere. Pictographs. The park protects an 800 acre outcrop of granite that has huecos and pictographs. The hiking consists of climbing around on the rocks. We did that for a couple of hours after lunch.
