A big portion of this park is designated wilderness. We hiked a trail today that went through the middle of it. The plan was to drive to the trailhead and hike back to the campground. I would have to ride my bike back to the car to retrieve it. We got an early start and met an enormous bull bison sauntering down the center of the road. I had to get out of the car and kick him in the tush. He was a hurting bovine, that I can tell you. The hike was really spectacular. Picture quality scenery in every direction. We saw a few bison off in the distance but had no close encounters. The final stretch took us through a big prairie dog town. We were out 5 hours and covered 9 miles. I recovered the car after a short rest at the MP. We move further West tomorrow.
Way to kick him in the butt, Dave!
ReplyDeleteNice views Dave, enjoyed them
ReplyDeleteDid you put your shutters up, Irma may impact you and paula
ReplyDeleteNo. A neighbo has volunteered to do it. If that storm hits head on shutters probably won't matter.
