Yaking Walcott

We rented a Sit on top for me and Jenny paddled hers. We were out for 2 hours of leisurely paddling along the shoreline that I paddled yesterday. The State Park is right in the middle of a National Wildlife preserve and there is no development on the shoreline of the lake. The young lady that rented us the kayak told us that the lake freezes in the winter to the point that people can drive out on it and ice fish. We asked her where she shops for groceries and she told us that they slaughter a cow and a pig for meat every year but that she goes into Twin Falls once a month (50 miles) for stuff she can't produce herself. I did a bike ride on some ATV trails and came upon this burn scar. It's actually not too far from the campground. Everything that's not watered is dead and dry and a fire waiting to happen.

  1. Glad you were able to get in the water despite the mishap with paddle board/inflatable which died. Guess you are meeting up with the tribe today for yellow stone adventure
