This park is 33,000 acres. The outflow from the lake forms the headwaters of the Mississippi river. Jenny and I started our river trip here in August of 2011. This morning, before we left the campground, we hiked to an overlook of a whitewater stretch of the St. Louis river that is a big attraction. The morning light was pretty and there were several photographers there with big cameras and tripods. I was there with my Galaxy S-7. If you look closely you can see Jenny on the ragged edge.
